Welcome to the Kansas Milkmaid’s web log!
My name is Christina Fuller. I began writing under the pen name the Kansas Milkmaid in 2005. Entries chronicled my journey from a city girl to a farm girl, a career woman to a home school mom, and a fast food consumer to an all natural producer. A lot has changed since 2005.
I purposed to write about my experiences with transparency. My articles were not about perfection and expertise. But, I shared about mistakes, trials, and grace. While I wrote candidly, there was still more to me than met the eye. My family was struggling with a secret pain.
In April of 2007, my private struggle with domestic violence became public. My world changed overnight. I became a single mother of six home schooled children operating an active farmstead dairy.
Divorce is devastating. But, God uses many things, sometimes humiliating experiences to get our attention and transform us into His likeness. I have learned God has an ocean of mercy for His children. He is about redeeming them and rebuilding the waste places. He promises that we shall obtain gladness and joy and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.
Over the last year, I have suffered a death, bareness in my life as I endured the divorce and criminal trial against my children’s father. I wondered how God could use me, a divorced single mother for His purposes. However, God’s pattern is about rebuilding/resurrecting after there is a death. He reaches into the rubble for soot covered stones and rebuilds walls.
My goal in writing is to show you the promise of hope I discovered in the ash heaps around me. It is there in the ruins of my life, that I saw God more distinctly. He walked me through the darkness calling me into His marvelous light.
Each entry is crafted with care to reflect the glory of God in every way, in the every day. May you too, find hope in the midst of despair and fulfillment in the frustration. On this site, you will find a variety of articles on a variety of topics. You will find informational as well as inspirational entries. Most of the themes will be around farming, parenting and home schooling. However, this site is for anyone who needs encouragement to live fully, deeply , yet simply for Christ. I do not offer you professional expertise, I only offer a broken life secured by duct tape, bungee cords, bailing twine, and primarily the Lord Jesus Christ.
Udderly His,
The Kansas Milkmaid
